London, Tourist Style - 25/8/2006 - 27/8/2006

My friend Amy came to the UK for two weeks for a vacation during what turned out to be her downtime between jobs. She spent the first week with her friend Tina on the outskirts of London. I met her in London for her first full non-jetlagged weekend. We planned to see London in all of its gory tourist detail. We spent two and a half days trekking through the city and hit everything from the Wellington Arch to the Tower of London. Amy's Marriott Points guaranteed we stayed in style in West India Quay near Canary Wharf. Our adventure ended with even more exercise -- patience turned to impatience turned to a mad sprint through Luton Airport to be officially the last two people on our flight to Edinburgh. At least it makes for a good story. And a good reminder that no matter how cheap a flight is from Luton, it is not worth it.
